Trenchard Street is an historic street running through the central heart of Bristol. Its characterised by an eclectic mix of architectural styles stretching from the medieval period, through to Georgian merchant houses, and much later monolithic post-war development and contemporary performance venues.

Streets Reimagined were commissioned to develop a public realm strategy for the street to inform the allocation of Section 106 funding and the character of future development. A key theme arising from the study was the knitting together of the diverse morphology to create a more cohesive entertainment quarter for the city. This included proposals for new street management and innovative design approaches, including the retro-fitting of  active frontages at street level.
